Phonem - Maïlys Maronne

Maïlys Maronne: keyboards, voice, composition
Thibault Perriard: drums
Philippe Burneau: electric bass
Vincent Duchosal: electric guitar
Reno Silva Couto: saxophones

Brainchild of pianist Maïlys Maronne, "Phonem" started as a quartet in 2018 (piano, bass, drums, saxophone). The first album "Animus Volandi" was released in October 2018 on the label Onze Heures Onze. It received good reviews ("Revelation" in Jazz Magazine, Citizen Jazz selection), and has been played live in French Festivals such as Jazz sous les Pommiers Festival and Jazz in Montreuil.

After experiencing being a leader for the first time, Maïlys is now planning to breathe new life into this group by rewriting a whole repertoire with a different sound. She swaps piano for keyboards and introduces an electric guitar. For the "Geometriks" project, Thibault Perriard and Vincent Duchosal join Philippe Burneau and Reno Silva Couto who played on the first album. In addition to these four musicians, Maïlys wishes to integrate a graphic designer/videographer to the project in order to link visuals and music, which is the basis of her new repertoire.
